# Export controls

What does “Export controls” mean?

Export controlsA state’s rules on which chips, tools and even models may be sold abroad, and to whom. Washington’s are published, or disclosed by the company they bind. Beijing’s rare-earth controls of October 2025 are published notices, suspended until 10 November 2026; its proposal of October 2026 would write a large model’s weights into a published list; and its stop on the H200 at its own border reached the record only through sources. *Chapter 7.*
